The theatre of the carnival culture, masques, grotesque, buffonade, and different genres of contemporary and historical festivals, was created in 1993 in Sankt Petersburg. The theatre makes special interactive shows and performances using different kinds of art - from anima and buffonade to the authentic Baroque dances and historical fencing. At the show of the theatre everyone can become a King, a Knight, a Monster, or just an intrigued spectator. The theatre is a constant participant of the festivals of Russia and Europe. It participated in the events: International Tsarskoselskiy Carnival (Russia), International Carnival in Moscow (Russia), Carnival in St Petersburg (Russia), Festival Vilnaius Dianos (Lithuania), Festival of Ancient Music in Jurosław (Poland), Festival of Ancient Dance in Sandomierz (Poland) and many more. The performances, in which amusing and horrible, strange and attractive masks entertain the public: by mysterious stories, fights with the real swords, ancient dances, draws and tricks in the best traditions of European Carnival. The masks and costumes made in workshops of theatre Pezo, repeatedly were exposed at exhibitions, for example in National Gallery in St. Petersburg or in Chaplin's club in Vilnius (Lithuania).

Seven medieval buffoons-moresquierres roll to the area a pageant and make a performance in a tradition of medieval carnival. Here are presented a dance with flags, a fight with swords, tantamaresque horses, and small bestiarium. The monsters from the Bestiarium are anima-actors in costumes and masks. All this is accompaniated with dynamical, styled as medieval, music. Performance is interactive. That is the action to which people from public, whose actions the actors skillfully direct to the necessary channel, are constantly involved in. The action does not require translation. Comedians are explained with the help of gestures.
