Co się wydarzy, gdy huśtawka stanie się cyrkowym rekwizytem albo instrumentem muzycznym? Jakie życiowe metafory kryją w sobie przedmioty służące do zabawy? „PLAY(ces)” to eksperyment, który splata muzykę i akrobatykę, sztukę i codzienność, dzieciństwo i dojrzałość. To opowieść o przemianach i nieustannym poszukiwaniu tożsamości.
Markas Liberman jest interdyscyplinarnym artystą cyrku współczesnego. Jego droga twórcza rozpoczęła się na styku badań nad sztuką i performansu. Podczas studiów z zakresu sztuki i kognitywistyki, zainteresowanie cyrkiem współczesnym skłoniło go do przyglądania się temu, jak w tej formie sztuki spotykają się ciało i otoczenie. Z tych poszukiwań wyrosły spektakle, w których Liberman bada napięcia między przedmiotem, performerem i publicznością. W 2022 roku rozwijał swoje umiejętności w prestiżowej paryskiej szkole École Philippe Gaulier. Od 2016 roku pracuje także jako niezależny edukator artystyczny.
“PLAY(ces)” is a solo musical-circus performance by Markas Liberman, which invites the audience to experience children’s playgrounds as a performative, circus-friendly space. What happens when a swing becomes a circus tool, a musical instrument? What life metaphors do game objects reveal? “PLAY(ces)” is an experiment that intertwines music and acrobatics, art and everyday life, childhood and maturity, it is a story about transformations and eternal searches for identity, about the desire to grow up and the ability to preserve the most fragile qualities of childhood.
Markas Liberman is an interdisciplinary, contemporary circus artist whose creative path began at the intersection of art research and performance art. During his studies in arts and cognition, Liberman’s interest in contemporary circus led him to explore how the relationship between the body and the environment is revealed in this art form. Inspired by this research, Liberman began to create performances that explore the relationship between the object, the performer and the audience. In 2022 Liberman furthered his skills at the prestigious clown and theatre school Ecole Philippe Gaulier in Paris and since 2016, he also works as a freelance art educator.
