To spektakl dla wszystkich głodomorów świata, istot uznanych za niegodne życia, ludzkich odpadów i zbędnego balastu „zdrowego” społeczeństwa. Przywołuje i ożywia na ulicy postaci oraz sytuacje z dzieł i zapisków Franza Kafki. Wydobywa napięcia, lęki i zagrożenia obecne w „Przemianie”, „Kolonii karnej” czy „Procesie”. Konfrontując je z publicznością udowadnia, że światy Kafki nie są hermetyczne, a dotyczą uniwersalnych doświadczeń, obecnych w życiu każdego i każdej z nas.
Teatr Ósmego Dnia to najsłynniejsza polska grupa teatralna wywodząca się ze studenckiego teatru kontrkulturowego lat 60., założona w 1964 roku przez studentów i studentki polonistyki Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu. Dziś to zespół-legenda, symbol teatru zaangażowanego, pulsujący rytmem najważniejszych wydarzeń politycznych i społecznych. „Ósemki” – krzykliwe, posługujące się intensywnym ruchem i symbolicznym gestem, stające z publicznością twarzą w twarz – są jednym z najważniejszych teatrów tego typu w Europie.
Opening Performance
The show dedicated to all starvelings of the world, creatures that are not worthy to live, human trash, unnecessary ballast on the healthy society. It recalls and brings to life on the street figures and situations form Franz Kafka’s literary works and his writings. It evokes the tensions, fears and threats referred to in “The Metamorphosis”, “In the Penal Colony”, and “The Trial”. Confronting them with the audience, often accidental viewers, it proves that Kafka’s worlds are not hermetic but concern universal situations that are important to everyone.
Teatr Ósmego Dnia is the most famous Polish theatre ensemble originating from the student counterculture theatre of the 1960s. Established in 1964 by students of the Polish studies at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, it is now an iconic group, a symbol of engaged theatre pulsating with the rhythm of the most important political and social events. This loud group, employing a lot of movement and symbolic gestures and standing face to face with the audience, has become one of the main theatres of their kind in Europe.
